what im having a hard time understanding is im going through to look at peoples profile's and not many men have pictures up? are we just suppost to read what you have wrote and think its enough i know looks arnt everything but it helps to know what you look like. =]

I myself no longer have a pic up as I'm not looking but enjoy the blogs and chances for more friends but some of the reasons could include: no camera or pic, embaressed in case co-worker or friend/family see it, married or in some form of relationship and just dabbling on the side, scammer, pic not who they are due to fraud/game playing, insecurity with oneself and looks, pic is outdated, don't want to be judged on pic, not truly looking, already in relationship and just keeping profi more...

And who wants near nekked photos of strangers as someone suggested unless that floats your boat.
Try to decide on winkability ( is that a word ?) based on the profile and ask for few pictures eventually if you get along - pics with dates showing current would be best. less...
That's when you have to make a judgement call. If you feel the person is "right" for you, or could be, then you have to make the call to ask them to post a pic. There is a wink you can send that says you are interested but would like a pic. If you aren't gold, you can only wink BACK at people (I think). But, you can post a comment on a few people's profiles every week or so. So, if you aren't gold, PLAN CAREFULLY. You can only contact a few select, so make sure they are worth you more...
