Even after I joined as a member and then sent them an email, in most cases it went no further than one email response back from them. There are some that I still talk to as friends, though with these we went straight to talking on messenger. I don't know, maybe talking live on places like hot mail gives more opportunity to get to know someone better. Paula I totally understand how you are feeling. I just turned 54 and I am finding myself in the same situation as you and definitely not ready for a nursing home. I have lost faith in ever finding that special someone who is truly looking for his special someone. It seems that friends with benefits is what most are looking for. I am looking for a friend who will be with me for more then just the 'benefits'. Call me old fashion but there will be no benefits without the commitment.

My friends told me I was trying too hard and was beginning to look desperate. So I quit all my sites and just tried to let fate handle it. So much for plan B.
